Manchester United loanee Eric Bailly has been sent off for Marseille after catching an opponent in the chest with a kung-fu kick during a French Cup match against fourth division side Hyeres.

The incident occurred in the 15th minute with Bailly and Moussa N'Diaye attacking a bouncing ball. Bailly was just beaten to the ball and could not halt his momentum as he went crashing into N'Diaye, kicking him in the right-hand side of his chest.

With his opponent flattened, the referee had no option but to show Bailly a straight red card. The Ivorian defender earned himself a reputation during his six years at Old Trafford for lurching from the sublime to the ridiculous, and one fan pointed out on social media that Bailly's latest challenge highlighted that he hasn't changed.
